Outplacement support with no end date

Most outplacement is sold in three, six or twelve month blocks. When the block expires the support stops, whether or not the person has found work. Ours carries on until they land.

We are the redundancy and outplacement side of Yorkshire Talent Partners, a recruitment firm based at Finningley in Doncaster. Supporting people out of a job and into the next one is the whole of what this part of the business does.

What outplacement support is

Outplacement is career support that an employer pays for on behalf of people leaving the organisation through redundancy. It covers the practical work of finding the next role: career coaching, writing and rewriting a CV, preparing for interviews, building a LinkedIn profile, and understanding how the local job market actually hires.

The employer commissions it. The person leaving receives it. Both sides get something out of it, which is why it has become a normal part of running a redundancy properly rather than an unusual gesture.

Where to go for the legal and financial questions

We handle career support. We do not give employment-law or financial advice, and we will tell you plainly when a question belongs somewhere else.

For statutory redundancy pay, notice periods and consultation rules, use Acas and GOV.UK. For money questions after redundancy, use MoneyHelper.

For employers

You have decided to make redundancies and you do not want to be the sort of employer that handles it badly. Outplacement is how you give the people leaving a genuine route forward, and how you show the people staying what kind of organisation they work for.

We support the leaders and HR teams running the process as well as the people affected by it.

For employees

You have been told your role is at risk, or it has already gone. You may not have written a CV in fifteen years, and the job market has changed since you last looked at it.

We work with you one to one, for as long as it takes, until you are into something else. If your employer has arranged this, it costs you nothing.

Why the end date matters

A fixed outplacement window suits the supplier. It rarely suits the person using it.

Job searches do not run to a schedule. Someone at a senior level, or in a narrow specialism, or returning to work after a long time in one employer, often takes longer than a standard block allows. The support ending at that point is precisely when it was starting to be useful.

We do not set an end date. The person keeps working with us until they are into their next role.
